Sometimes Big! Sometimes small… and occasionally not at all

  1. The colours are great Delilah– maybe try making the a little smaller? Not as wide maybe, or even a little smaller in height. He looks a little bug eyed, as if they’re bulging out of his head. Hope this helps šŸ™‚

If you put less pressure on yourself, you’ll do a better job. I had the same problem. I would get to the eyes and then it was all ‘got to get this right’ The best way to get around it is to just do studies of eyes. So for days and days, all you do is draw eyes, all sorts. Draw them fast, draw them slow, ink them in, zen doodle them. You’ll get to the stage where you find your own way and a looser style šŸ™‚

  3. I don’t mind them at all. I think they fit the style of the drawing. If you are looking for something more realistic, then maybe a little more variation in the whites of the eyes and the shape of the eyes and the irises/pupils. But really, I think your drawing is very much about line and less about form and that works well here.

  4. If you look closely at people’s faces, the whites of the eyes are rarely so prominent. They are often mostly under shadow, with just a little bit highlighted. Irises are usually surprisingly large. Hope that helps ā˜ŗ

  5. Thank you my fellow bloggers. Very helpful indeed I have taken it all on board as it’s excellent advice šŸ˜€
